Professional Development - Lending Library

MCCA Resource Library has an extensive collection of publications and videos on a wide range of topics related to child care as a service and as a profession.

Members may access resources by visiting MCCA's Library in person or by contacting the Resource Library at 586-8587 Ext. 21 between the hours of 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM - Monday to Friday. Non-Winnipeg members may call toll free at 1-888-323-4676 Ext. 21 or email info@mccahouse.org. The Resource Library is also open in the evenings or on Saturdays when workshops are scheduled, please call first.

Need a book but can't make it down to MCCA? Just give us a call and we will mail you the book!



MCCA Resource Library borrowig privileges:

• Borrowing privileges are for individual members of the Manitoba Child Care Association
• With a centre membership, only board members of that centre may borrow resources.
• Items can be borrowed for a period of three weeks and can be renewed for an additional period of time if a hold has not been placed on the item. You must contact the MCCA for an extension prior to your due date.
• Maximum of six items may be borrowed at one time
• Patrons will be charged .25/item per day for overdue books and videos to a maximum of $5.00 for books and $10.00 for videos. Replacement cost for lost/damaged items will be invoiced and borrowing privileges will be denied until payment is made
• When returning books, a pre-paid mailing label (supplied by MCCA) may be attached to a shipping envelope and mailed free of charge by the member-this applies only to books!
• Video cassettes and CD's may be mailed to non-Winnipeg residents. Winnipeg residents must pick up and return video cassettes and CD's in person or arrange
• for pick-up/drop-off

Curriculum Kits

A Curriculum Kit is a wealth of resource items geared to a specific theme. The kits are chock-full of puzzles, books, games, manipulative toys and activities. For example, the posters and figurines in the Dinosaur Kit bring the prehistoric era to life. These kits will enhance your early childhood program. Curriculum kits must be reserved and are available for a three week lending period.
